SEBASTIAN A. CROSS (MD)

Sebastian A. Cross has been practicing law in Maryland for 11 years, primarily in the areas of real estate development, land use and zoning issues. His practice area includes all jurisdictions in Maryland, with a focus on Harford County and the Baltimore Metropolitan Area.

Mr. Cross worked as a law clerk for the law firm of Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C., upon graduation. While in law school, he served twice as summer clerk at the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, and upon passing the bar he became an associate at Whiteford, Taylor and Preston in Baltimore City. Mr. Cross later worked with the law firm of Gildea & Schmidt until he joined Robinson | Robinson to focus his practice on the Northern Baltimore Metropolitan area.

Mr. Cross's main focus is in real estate, real estate development, corporate law, commercial transactions, surety bonding, negotiations of contract of sale, to the negotiation of and obtaining of acquisition and construction financing and through to final building permits. He has participated in the development of several Planned Unit Developments (PUDs), participated in effectuating rezoning legislation, and fought against the condemnation of private property. Mr. Cross has represented a wide range of entities, including NYSE traded corporations, homebuilders, REITs, and even land developers and retailers in obtaining development and entitlement approvals.

The types of projects Mr. Cross engages in include large town center mixed-use development, urban redevelopment efforts, large and small residential developments, hotels, hospitals, medical office buildings, apartment buildings, multi-story office buildings, grocery-anchored retail centers, retirement communities, home improvement centers, industrial warehouses, fuel service stations and storage facilities, along with a vast myriad of other uses.

Mr. Cross has also been involved in many large-scale projects in the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area (CBCA), and is experienced in the Growth Allocation process and obtaining approvals in the CBCA while complying with environmental regulations. Mr. Cross has extensive experience in working with both governmental agencies and community associations in a collaborative fashion. He routinely obtains regulatory approvals for projects at the local, state and federal levels.
